Built in 1917 as the Henry Clay Hotel, The Milner Hotel – Detroit is the oldest continuously operated hotel in Detroit. Milner Hotels' founder, Earle R. Milner, acquired this property in the early 1900's due, in part, to its striking "Flat Iron"- style architecture, but more for its location, central to everything Detroit then had to offer.

Over the years since the early 20th Century, Detroit's urban landscape has experienced many changes. Despite those changes, however, the venerable Milner Hotel on Centre Street remains Detroit's best location, central to everything today's Detroit has to offer.

No other Detroit hotel can boast being only steps away from Comerica Park, Ford Field, the city's major theatres and concert halls, the Detroit Athletic Club, and numerous restaurants and nightclubs, as well as convenient one block access to the Detroit People Mover, providing fast and secure access to downtown Detroit's many other commercial and entertainment venues, including Joe Louis Arena, Cobo Hall, The Renaissance Center, and the Greektown Casino.

"Location" is not the only reason for considering The Milner on your next trip to Detroit, however. Although the days of "A Bed and a Bath for a Buck and a Half" popularized by Milner Hotels across the US in the early 20th Century are now part of history, The Milner remains Detroit's best value as the company's current president, E. Ronald Milner, continues his father's commitment to providing clean and comfortable accommodations at rates affordable by all members of the traveling public.

So whether in Detroit for pleasure or business, stay at The Milner Hotel and be where the action is.
